Anadarko Fellowship for Excellence in Energy Scholarship-Undergraduates
A generous endowment provided by Anadarko Petroleum Corporation annually funds a prestigious award for juniors and seniors currently enrolled at the University of Wyoming. The fellowships are competitively awarded to recognize and advance excellence in energy scholarship at the University of Wyoming. The fellowships promote innovative and entrepreneurial research in areas aligning with Anadarko's energy portfolio. These areas include but are not limited to oil and gas, environmental stewardship and reclamation, transportation, regulation and policy, health and safety.
The fellowship will be awarded for the 2013-2014 academic year through the student's financial aid package.
Number of Awards
Four $4,000 fellowships (subject to available funding) will be awarded to promising junior and senior undergraduates to support a summer or academic year research or internship experience. The term of each fellowship is one calendar year.
Funding should demonstrably enhance the awardees' scholarly development by supporting travel, research supplies, equipment or personnel. During the spring semester, recipients will participate in the Energy Research and Development Symposium. The public event will be held at the University of Wyoming and Anadarko Fellows will present a synopsis summarizing the project, including significance, results and potential contributions to the energy sector. Fellowship outcomes may include refereed journal articles, intellectual property development and commercialization of innovations, new collaborative research programs and enhanced external funding. Students must maintain full-time enrollment (minimum 12 credit hours) and maintain a UW cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better. Recipients are expected to attend the annual School of Energy Resources awards banquet.
