Background:
Susan L. Pamerleau graduated from the University of Wyoming with a Bachelor of Arts
in Sociology in 1968. Since her graduation, Susan Pamerleau has served the United
States in several prestigious positions. During her 32 year career in the United States
Air Force, Susan broke many barriers, eventually ending her career as the second female
to ever reach the rank of Major General. Furthermore, she was also the first woman
to command the Air Force Personnel Center and the Air Force Reserve Officers Training
Corp. She also served on the International Military Staff for NATO in Brussels, Belgium.
Following her illustrious career with the Air Force, Susan Pamerleau was elected as
the sheriff of Bexar County, Texas, which is the 11th largest sheriff’s office in
the US, with nearly 2000 employees and a budget over $200 million. Finally, in 2018,
Susan Pamerleau was nominated and confirmed as the United States Marshal for the Western
District of Texas.
