Student Legal Services (SLS) is a service provided by the Associated Students of the University of Wyoming (ASUW) for all full-fee paying University of Wyoming students.
Student Legal Services offers a full-time, licensed attorney to assist University of Wyoming students. All meetings with the SLS attorney are confidential. The SLS attorney can assist students in a wide variety of subject areas including:

Generally, after meeting with the Student Legal Services attorney and receiving information and advice, students understand the situation, their options, and are confident moving forward on their own. The attorney can also prepare documents for students. There is a $20.00 charge for personal legal documents prepared by the Student Legal Services attorney.
Please be aware that, while the attorney makes every effort to assist students to the fullest extent possible, some areas of law are so specialized that she may be able to offer only generalized advice. In the situation where the attorney does not have the knowledge to assist the student with direct advice she will provide the student with referral resources.

Assistance from Student Legal Services is available to all full-fee paying University of Wyoming students. Full-time University of Wyoming students pay the SLS fee as part of their fee package. Part-time students who pay for the optional fee package are also eligible for SLS assistance.
Part-time students who did not pay for the optional fee package can obtain access to SLS by paying for the optional fee package. Students considering this option should be aware that it may be more costly than hiring a private attorney.
