Certificate Program
The University of Wyoming College of Business and the UW Outreach School are offering a
Real Estate Certificate Program.
The Real Estate Certificate Program does not require
previous training in real estate and is
designed for both the student and the professional. The certificate program can be obtained
as part of a degree program or as a stand-alone course of study.
While sections of these
classes are available on campus, they will also be offered on the Internet. The Internet
option allows the student to complete these courses without leaving home. The courses
will be offered so the program can be completed in a year.
The Real Estate Certificate Program consists of six, three-credit hour classes. The program
contains four classes in real estate and two in finance.
FIN 4610 Real Estate and Urban Economics
FIN 4800 Real Estate Finance
FIN 4810 Real Estate Appraisal
BADM 3000 Real Estate Law
FIN 3250 Managerial Finance
FIN 4520 Financial Market and Institutions
It is suggested that you take FIN 3250 and FIN 4610 near the start of pursuing the certificate program,
although they are not required for non-degree seeking students. The advanced classes in real estate
will be easier if you have already taken them. Having FIN 3250 before taking FIN 4520 is also very helpful.
At this time, degree-seeking students who list the Real Estate Certificate Program as a secondary program must adhere to the
course pre-requisites set forth in the General Bulletin.
