Teaching and Research Interests
My primary teaching and research interests are in Real Estate. I find
the areas of property valuation and property tax administration, in particular the issue of
measuring and adjusting for property tax inequity, of special interest. I
have also been researching the valuation of government grazing leases and
the equitable property taxation of farms and ranches. When given the opportunity, I
also enjoy
teaching in the areas of Insurance and Corporate Finance.
Recently, I have become more involved in distance education. I have taught classes
over Wyoming's compressed-video system and in Spring 1999 I taught my first online class
(in cooperation with eCollege). Since then I have developed and
taught five additional classes online.
In fall of 1999, the University of Wyoming received a grant from eCollege to develop
a Real Estate Certificate program to be offered over the internet. The first of these
real estate classes was offered Summer 2000. For more information on this program, check out Real Estate
Certificate program or e-mail me - sundermn@uwyo.edu.
I am the faculty advisor for Chi Alpha Christian
Fellowship and
Baptist Collegiate Ministries.
