Synergy is one of UW’s highly acclaimed first-year programs. Read more below!
CONNECTIONS: Synergy
offers two first-year programs that help new students fulfill University Studies Program classes
in a cohesive and connected environment. Synergy’s courses deliver increased
opportunities for optional study groups, more one-on-one time with instructors, and smaller class
sizes. Each of Synergy’s classes fulfills general education credit that all
undergraduate students must satisfy at UW.
QUALITY INSTRUCTION: Approximately
300 students join Synergy’s programs to engage with some of UW’s most talented
teachers and to easily enroll in high demand courses.
FIRST-YEAR ADVISING: Students in Synergy courses access a trained advisor in the fall to plan for spring course enrollment, long-term academic mapping, and resources on campus for financial, academic, and other issues.
PRIORITY
ENROLLMENT: Students
with high school indicators outside of UW’s admission parameters choose a
Synergy option before June Orientation and experience early enrollment.
You can find UW’s admission guidelines here.
Tap into the benefits of launching your college career as an undeclared major! College statistics show that starting as an undeclared major can shorten your time to graduation and increase your satisfaction with first-year advising.
If you decide you would like to declare a major, be sure to speak with an advisor before June orientation about your plans as well as prerequisites to enter the major. You must speak with an advisor before registering for courses within the major. Advisors can be reached during business hours: please call 307-766-2398.
