New parking and transit fees are now in effect at the University of Wyoming.
The changes, approved by the UW Board of Trustees in May, include increases to fees for all categories of parking permits, a 50-cent spike in the cost of hourly parking meters and a new transit fee for students, faculty and staff. The fee increases are expected generate an additional $800,000 annually.
The price for hourly parking meters and hourly day lot parking is now $1, day permit fees are $5 and bulk day permit passes will be on sale for $5.
Faculty and staff parking permits will go on sale later this month for $180. Information on TransPark services will be mailed to faculty and staff and also be available at www.uwyo.edu/tap.
