The first floor activities will be MEP (mechanical/electrical/plumbing) rough-in, drywall and drywall tape and A/V (audio/visual) rough in. The third floor activities will be more framing, MEP rough-in, in-wall blocking, and drywall top-out at selected walls. The roof membrane and coping cap installation continues.

At the exterior the brick will be installed on the south and east elevations. Masonry washing and scaffolding tear-down will occur all around. The water lines will be installed in the alley and the roadway between the Berry Center and the Bureau of Mines Building will close for a few days. Exact days are yet to be determined.

Education Annex (Scheduled Completion: Fall 2010) -- Art design and related finish upgrades continues on the second and third floors and stairs. HVAC and electrical work continues this week. There will be no access to second or third floors starting Monday. Access to the elevator for the ADA route to first floor will remain.

War Memorial Stadium Expansion and Improvements (Scheduled completion: Fall 2010) -- The East Stadium parking lot will be closed until August. Upgrades to the east side restrooms continue. Upper east front edge slabs will be placed this week for ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) seating extension. Tile and carpet work is starting for the suites. Elevator installation is ongoing. Evening and weekend work is scheduled through the summer.

Kendall House (Southeast corner of 8th and Fremont Streets, is the new home of the Ruckelshaus Institute and Helga Otto Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources) --The departments moved into the building on Monday. Landscaping is continuing with equipment and truck traffic in the area. The sidewalk at the corner of 8th & Fremont will be closed the next two weeks for sidewalk and street repairs so use caution when walking in this area. Design for the basement finish is nearly complete and construction will start in July.

Biological Safety Lab, Level Three (BSL3) additions to the State Veterinary Laboratory -- The contractor continues to finalize the addition. The design team is doing its substantial completion inspection. Commissioning of the mechanical systems is on-going, and site work is in progress.

The UW Physical Plant reports the following activities for the week:

Biological Sciences -- The heat will be shut off in this building from June 24 to about July 19 to replace parts and repair the heating system. Steam will still be available to the research laboratories. Temperature issues should be reported to the Physical Plant Service Desk.
