Barbara Powell is the Outstanding Staff Employee of the Quarter.
Barbara Powell, office associate, senior in the Department of Geography, has been
selected as UW's Outstanding Staff Employee of the Quarter. A reception is scheduled
Tuesday, Oct. 19, at 11:30 a.m. in Room 203 of the College of Arts and Sciences Building.
Powell has worked in several departments since starting at UW in 1983.
"Her experience and network of contacts make our department run more smoothly," wrote
one of the nominators for the award. "Her quality of work is exceptional in terms
of thoroughness and timeliness. Her high level of organization is a testament to her
quality of work."
The Outstanding Staff Employee of the Quarter award recognizes UW staff for their
efforts toward excellence in the workplace.
Nominees can be any UW staff employee and must receive three nomination forms from
three separate individuals. Nominations must be submitted to the Staff Senate office.
