State, national and international media frequently feature the University of Wyoming and members of its community in stories. Here is a summary of some of the recent coverage:

UW’s Geological Museum is among 10 museums nationwide joining the Museums for Digital Learning program that focuses on building museums’ capacity to connect with teachers and students, according to Salon. The article is titled “Museums are combining childcare and education that’s more affordable than private tutoring.”

The Wyoming Tribune Eagle reported that UW has canceled spring break due to COVID-19 concerns. The Laramie Boomerang, Sheridan Media, K2 Radio and KGAB Radio noted that UW is stepping up COVID-19 testing. UW students who come onto campus will be required to be tested twice per week.

UW’s new program “Cowboys Can” will emphasize key steps students, staff and faculty can take to limit the spread of COVID-19. The Wyoming Tribune Eagle published UW’s release on the new program.

UW Associate Professor Ana Houseal discussed with Wyoming Public Radio that a recent report card on climate change education in public middle and high schools across the U.S. ranked Wyoming at the top of the list with a solid A.

Cowboy State Daily and The Casper Star-Tribune (CS-T) noted that a recent survey by UW’s Wyoming Survey and Analysis Center indicated more Wyoming residents are reporting that they feel more anxious about the coronavirus pandemic and its spread. KGAB Radio, K2 Radio and Oil City News were among media outlets publishing UW’s release.

A CS-T article quoted UW economist Rob Godby about a little-known utility plan that could have big implications for small Wyoming communities.

WyoFile interviewed several UW students on the challenges of continuing their education during the COVID-19 pandemic.

UW facilities are being used as a basecamp and command center for personnel battling the weekslong Mullen fire west of Laramie in the Medicine Bow National Forest. Oil City News and The Boomerang published UW’s release.

County 10 published UW’s release on the university and Central Wyoming College’s grant of nearly $578,000 to recruit more Wind River Indian Reservation students into the two schools’ food, agriculture, natural resources and human sciences programs.

The newly formed Black Studies Center at UW presented its first free webinar last week, titled “After Fifty Years, Does Black Studies Matter? A Critical Critique.” Oil City News and K2 Radio published UW’s release.

Environmental News Network published UW’s release noting that the university’s Biodiversity Institute launched a global vegetation project.

UW molecular biology Professor David Fay spoke with Wyoming Public Radio about his research studying microscopic worms to see how their DNA is similar to humans.
