Parent Education Network - Laramie

Parents as Teachers is a state-wide program, and is a project of "Parents Helping Parents of Wyoming." We are a parent education and family support program, serving families throughout pregnancy until the age of five. This is a free program, with no income restrictions. We work to increase parent's knowledge of child development, and increase parent's feelings of competence and confidence. We acomplish this by personal visits from a trained Parent Educator. Diabetes Support Group - Afton

Monthly support group for those with diabetes or persons interested in learning about the disease meets the first Wednesday of each month at the Star Valley Senior Center in Afton, WY from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.. Participants share information about personal experiences, coping techniques, diabetic recipes. Guest speakers offer education, new trends, discoveries, medications, treaments. Caregiver Support Group

This meeting is open to anyone, regardless of age, who takes care of a friend or loved one and is designed to be a time to share ideas or concerns. The meetings are on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:00 P.M. and dinner is provided at the Senior Center of Jackson Hole.

Low Vision Support Group - Casper

Meets at 1:00 PM the second Monday of the month in the Parish Hall at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 701 S. Wolcott, Casper.
Please use the accessible entrance (red door) off the parking lot on the east side of the building.

Wyoming Kinship Advocacy Group Meeting - Cheyenne

Monthly informational meetings on the third Thursday of the month with topics concerning the issues that face grandparents raising grandchildren or kinship care issues.
Meetings are from 6-8 pm at the Senior Activity Center, 2101 Thomes Avenue, Cheyenne, just north of the Civic center. For ease of participation we have a free meal and child care available.

Free Medical Care Clinic - Jackson

Teton Free Clinic: 5:30 PM - 7:45 PM every Tuesday in Dr. Sugden’s office in St. John’s complex, 557 East Broadway, Jackson. Comprehensive medical care provided to citizens who live or work in Teton County, do not have insurance and need care.
New patients must provide photo ID, copy of rent or utility bill and copy of last pay stub to be eligible.
Physicians, nurses, social workers and translators donate skills.

Organ and Tissue Donation Support Group - Casper

This group meets the first Thursday of the month in Casper. The group is for anyone that has been touched by organ and tissue in any manner (families of an organ and/or tissue donors; those in need of an organ or tissue transplant; those who's loved one was unable to be a donor but wanted to be, etc.). Alzheimer's Disease Support Groups - Across Wyoming

Sponsored by the Alzheimer's Association of the Great Plains. An experienced leader facilitates discussion among group members who share experiences and offer support, practical suggestions and encouragement to one another. Support groups are open to family members and other caregivers free of charge. Monthly meetings are held at the following locations:

Low-Tech AugCom Solutions for People with Severe Disabilities - Laramie
7/28/2008 (One-time event), Albany County
Presented by Cathy Binger, professor at the University of New Mexico who specializes in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), has been a speech-language pathologist for 15 years. Explore with us a variety of AAC solutions, including the use of low-tech graphic symbols and applications with simple electronic voice output devices. Two sessions designed to help you identify solutions that will alleviate communication frustrations and create improvements in basic communication skills for individuals with severe speech disorders.
