Project Description:
Research indicates that people with disabilities are at a greater risk for being a victim of a crime.  However, despite this increased risk, appropriate and accessible services are limited.  Much work needs to be done to fully understand the complexity of the issues and to determine best practices for meeting the needs of victims of crime with disabilities.  Additionally, disability and victim assistance providers typically do not work together to provide services, nor have there been tools available to assist them in exchanging information.  The Victims of Crime with Disabilities Resource Guide provides a variety of services which help bridge the information gap that exists between victim assistance and disability professionals.  Currently there are five services delivered through the Resource Guide web site: Online Calendar, Current News, Resources Database, Funding Opportunities, Online Discussions.
