Conference Schedule

Sept 22nd & 23rd: Events for the Healthcare and Social Service Provider. 

*Continuing Education Opportunities will be available for professionals, CEs pending.

Wednesday September 22nd, 2021:

  • 9am-12noon: Preconference Options: Elder Abuse/Adult Protection and Senior Center Director Training-WSSB. The Wyoming Senior Services Board (WSSB) training will provide an in-depth look at the Boards history, the purpose of the program, and  its benefits to Wyoming's older adult population. This preconference session is intended for senior center directors, senior project directors, and any provider receiving funds from the WSSB. Presented by the WSSB Board members in conjunction with the Aging Division.

  • 1pm-5pm: Topics include: Age Friendly Healthcare, Getting to the Heart of What Matters, Lessons from the Pandemic-Engaging Older Adults in Telehealth Services, Seeing the Big Picture-Social Determinants of Health and Collaboration Across the Field and more!

Thursday, September 23rd, 2021:

8:30am - 5pm: Topics include: Dementia Research Update, Healthy Brain Initiative-Road Map for Indian Country, The Three D's: Dementia, Delirium, Depression, Geriatric Mental Health, Aging in Place, Mobility, Legislative Update, and more!

Sept 24th: Events for the Public and Caregivers/Family

Friday, September 24th, 2021:

8:30am-4pm: Dedicated to community members and caregivers and will feature presentations on Aging in Place, Legal and Financial Preparation, Planning for the Future, and more!  Healthy U Leader Network; Info and Breakfast will also be hosted for leaders. 


Remote Attendance:

Remote participants will be able to participate via computer or the WyCOA Events App on a smart device. The WyCOA Events App will connect you to the 2021 Wyoming Conference on Aging.  This app will be used to view sessions remotely, share the agenda, speakers, and other practical information about the event. In the app you will be able to answer polling questions as well as ask questions of speakers. The app will be used to send out push notifications with updates before and during the event. We hope you will enjoy using these and many more features in the app throughout the conference!  Instructions to download the app will be sent upon registration.

Conference Costs:

  • $25.00: Preconference Options for Healthcare/Social Service Provider (Elder Abuse/Adult Protection)- Sept 22nd.  *Sr Center Director Training has no charge

  • $75.00: Conference for Healthcare/Social Service Provider - Sept 22nd and 23rd (both days)

  • NO CHARGE: Conference for Public and Caregivers/Family- Sept 24th

*No refunds after September 17th, 2021.  Registration is required.

Continuing Education:

  • The Wyoming Psychological Association has approved CES for this workshop. WyCOA maintains complete responsibility for the program. Nursing CEs approved through the Wyoming Hospital Association. All others will receive a certificate of attendance used to self-report.

  • Be sure to complete the WyCOA Evaluations located in the Event Program or on the WyCOA Events app!

  • Complete the Attendance Tracking for Individuals Form.  Request a word fillable form if needed!

Conference Objectives: Increase knowledge of assessing and addressing the 4Ms of geriatric healthcare. To increase awareness of current and emerging challenges around aging in Wyoming. To develop an aging network of providers and partners who advocate to realign and modernize current aging programs and networks to be more efficient and effective in their performance that will meet the future needs of older adults in Wyoming. To increase awareness of aging programs and services on a regional and national level.
