2018 Partners Meeting

2018 Partners Meeting

WYNDD held its 2nd Annual Partners Meeting at the University of Wyoming on November 29, 2018. Approximately 40 people attended the meeting in person (not including WYNDD staff), with an additional 30 participating via webinar over the course of the day. The meeting opened with welcoming remarks by WYNDD Director Gary Beauvais and UW President Laurie Nichols. Gary Beauvais followed with a review of WYNDD’s mission, a summary of recent projects, and an update of WYNDD’s budget status.  WYNDD’s Information Systems and Services Coordinator, Mark Andersen, presented an update on the development of WYNDD’s database and a preview of the online species field guide that will be available to the public in 2019. Following lunch, a panel of natural resource professionals representing the Wyoming Game and Fish Department, U.S. Forest Service, Audubon Rockies, and Bureau of Land Management discussed the data and information needs and challenges they currently face in their fields and organizations. The meeting concluded with a social mixer in downtown Laramie, which provided time for causal interaction and conversation among meeting participants.
