Student Counseling Services

Our clinic is FREE for current term enrolled University of Wyoming students. We are open weekdays, year-round for services, either in person or telehealth.  Our multi-disciplinary team utilizes a variety of resources to help students address a variety of concerns; academic stress, anxiety, depression, body image, family, grief, relationships, identity, and trauma. To accommodate our student population, we may not be available for weekly counseling sessions. 

The UCC also facilitates campus outreach, groups and workshops throughout the year.

Some students may experience concerns that cannot be addressed by the UCC’s flexible model of care. The UCC is always available to meet with students and assist them in accessing appropriate services either on-campus or in the community. Some common reasons students are referred to other services include: 

• A need or desire to be seen weekly for individual therapy 

• A need or desire for uninterrupted services from semester to semester 

• A need or desire for a specialty treatment or modality we do not provide 

• A need or desire for intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization, or inpatient care 

• Comprehensive psychological assessment to identify concerns such as ADHD, Learning Disorders, Autism Spectrum disorders, etc. 

• A need for court mandated assessment. 

• Students who are currently receiving care from another mental health counselor. This does not apply to students interested in accessing groups, workshops, or crisis services. 

• Students needing medical detoxification and/or medical stabilization 

• Students needing or wanting documentation for Emotional Support/Service Animals
