Handshake is a recruiting platform and job and internship database that connects students to employers. Using Handshake,

  • Students can:
      • Find on-campus and off-campus jobs and internships
      • Connect with employers
      • Find on-campus career events including job fairs
      • Apply for jobs and internships
      • Sign-up for on-campus interviews.
  • Employers can:
      • Register for career fairs
      • Identify candidates for full-time, part-time and internship positions
      • Manage on-campus recruiting efforts

Handshake for Students

Handshake's career network is student focused and built to help students find jobs and internships while in college and after graduation. In addition to their job and internship searching database, students also have access to  personaized job recommendations, national companies, networking with recruiters, alumni, and other students, and much more.

Handshake Student Login

Your Handshake account will automatically be created for you after you receive your UW email and password. Once your UW credentials are set up, simply login to handshake with your new username (the text before @uwyo.edu in your email) and the password you chose.

Simply login to Handshake by using your current UW username and password. You can visit Handshake Student Support for help with any questions that arise.

Handshake Student Support

As a UW graduate, you will have access to your Handshake account for 1 year after graduation as a part of the Alumni Association. For continued use of Handshake, you must be a dues paying member of the Alumni Association to continue to use Handshake. Handshake has a help center dedicated to students and alumni including articles about logging in as an alumni. Note: be sure to use your UW email before resetting your account email and password.

Alumni who become duse paying members of the Alumni Association will also need to change their email associated with Handshake before loosing access to their UW email address and password. Please refer to the below Handshake help articles to change your Handshake email from your UW email to a personal email and update your Handshake password for continued access:

Handshake for employers

Employers can use Handshake to register for career fairs, identify qualified candidates for full-time, part-time and internship positions, and manage on-campus recruiting efforts.

To get started with Handshake, visit their registration page and fill out the requested information. After you have registered for a Handshake employer account and validated it, you can then search for the University of Wyoming and connect with our school to post jobs and internships, connect with students, and register for career fairs.

Create an Employer Account Help Article

You can login to Handshake for employers using your username and password you created when you registered for an account. For help getting started with Handshake, you can visit Handshake Employer Support.

If you have not already created your employer account, see the questions above to create an employer Handshake account.

Once logged in, search for the fair you are interested in attending and after you select it, click on the register button in the top right hand corner of the details page and complete the registration form.
