The University of Wyoming is proud to offer students who wish to take courses without an official degree status. This is a perfect opportunity for students who wish to pursue higher education courses without the current intention of obtaining a degree and flexibility to discover what interests them without advising appointments. If your plans ever change while you are taking coursework, you can always change your status at a later time.
A couple of things to keep in mind with this admission status:

1. Create a Username & Log into WyoWeb
The WyoWeb portal will contain all of your main information. First, you will need
your username and password. Follow these step-by-step instructions on creating your account.
2. Submit the MMR Form (Laramie Campus students only)
All students taking classes on the Laramie campus must turn in their proof of the
Measles, Mumps, and Rubella vaccinations prior to course registration. You will not
be able to register for semester classes if you have not met this requirement. For
further information about the MMR vaccination requirement, please contact Student Health Service.
3. Get Advised
Non-degree Undergraduate students must connect with the Advising, Career, and Exploratory Studies Center for
course registration at 307-766-2398. In addition, non-degree students can take a maximum
of 7 credit hours per semester and may only transfer up to 12 credit hours to a degree-seeking
program from this status.
Non-degree Graduate students are not required to meet with an advisor in order to register, however, it
is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you discuss courses with your anticipated graduate program
in advance. Not all coursework will be applied toward a graduate degree.
4. Register for Classes
You will need to create your WyoWeb account (wyoweb.uwyo.edu) for course registration.
5. Check your UW Email
Once your account is created and you are registered for courses you will have access
to your UW e-mail account. You should check your UW e-mail account and your WyoWeb
account frequently for important updates.
6. Financial Aid
As a non-degree student you are not eligible for financial aid. If your student status
changes to degree-seeking, you may apply for financial aid at that time.
