Non-degree enrollment at UW allows undergraduate students to explore academic interests without degree requirements or a fixed timeline. This path opens doors to new opportunities, and UW is proud to support students pursuing this option.

Non-degree undergraduate students will apply to UW Admissions through our online application. Be sure to select “Non-Degree Seeking” when prompted.
Non-degree seeking students are encouraged to explore UW’s entire undergraduate course catalog!
Non-degree seeking undergraduate students can take a maximum of 7 credit hours per semester.
Undergraduate students choosing a non-degree seeking track CANNOT qualify for financial aid or scholarships.
Students are welcome to change their status to pursue a degree at any time! Note: you can transfer up to 12 credit hours from your non-degree seeking studies to apply towards your degree.
Yes, advising is available and encouraged for non-degree seeking undergraduates. Reach out to the Advising, Career, Exploratory Studies Center!
Non-degree admission status is NOT available to international students or to students who are currently under suspension at UW or any other college or university.
