Resources for Wool Judging coaches

Wool judging introduces participants to the fundamentals of wool fiber evaluation, including breed standards, commercial grading, fiber metrology, and the objective measurement techniques used across the industry. Through this format, learners gain a clear understanding of how raw fleece characteristics influence quality, value, and end-use products. These resources are designed to support coaches, students, and volunteers at all levels—whether preparing for collegiate contests or strengthening WY 4-H and FFA wool judging programs. The tutorial videos that follow are open to the public and provide step-by-step guidance to build confidence and skill in wool evaluation.
