The College of Engineering and Physical Sciences K-14 STEM Education Outreach Office looks forward to the opportunity to engage students and teachers in hands-on learning to build knowledge and understanding in the field of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Strength in K-14 education can enhance the quality and quantity of students who pursue STEM programs in higher education and ultimately pursue high-impact careers in Wyoming and beyond.

Howdy! I am a native Texan and recent resident of beautiful Wyoming. I have been blessed to work as an educator for the past 26 years facilitating authentic learning opportunities in K-12 classrooms. I hold a BA in English, an M.A.Ed. in Educational Leadership, and a Ph.D. in Education: Learning, Instruction, and Innovation. During my time in public education, I have served as a teacher, literacy coach, school improvement specialist, reading interventionist, teacher development specialist, curriculum writer, and educational consultant. I am thrilled to be a part of the UW family in a role that allows me to continue my work in K-12 classrooms while supporting the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences engineering initiative with K-14 STEM outreach. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, kayaking, camping, fishing, baking, cooking, reading, laughing, and spending time with my beautiful family.

I am an Architectural Engineering major with a minor in Construction Management. I grew up in Longmont Colorado and learned to be crafty and creative. Most of my interests are involved with Art and Music.

Gage Hepworth

My name is Gage Hepworth. I am a Computer Engineering second year. I grew up here in Laramie, WY and decided to stay here for college. I am not currently in any RSO’s, but I am considering joining the club fencing team here at UW. I enjoy playing tennis, working out, playing pool, watching way to many Disney movies, and dressing to fancy for any given occasion.

Hi! I am a double major in electrical engineering and computer science in my fifth year. I graduated high school in Layton UT. I am involved in Phi Sigma Rho (STEM sorority), undergraduate research, and STEP tutoring. I enjoy getting outside to hike, camp, and ski and hanging out with friends, especially at university events like football games.

John Samuel

I am pursuing a Ph.D. in Chemistry with specialization in solid state materials for date and energy storage. Hope to graduate in fall 2025. My hobbies include teaching, reading, playing soccer and outreach efforts to drive STEM interests among young folks.

Emily Vines

Hi! My name is Emily Vines, I am from a small town called Rifle located in Colorado. As of Fall 2024, I will be a senior. I will be graduating with a bachelor's in civil engineering and an associate's in mathematics. I have spent most of my life on ski resorts snowboarding around. When the snow melts way I enjoy hiking, and paddle boarding. I love jamming to songs and spending days with my friends when I am not busy with school.
