MATHCOUNTS COMPETITION SERIES

About: The MATHCOUNTS Competition Series is a great opportunity for students in grades 6-8 to build confidence, find relevance in math and improve problem solving skills. There are four levels of competition – school, chapter, state and national.

LAND SURVEYOR & GIS OUTREACH: NATIONAL SURVEYOR'S WEEK

ENGINEERING SUMMER PROGRAM (ESP)

About: High school juniors are invited to apply to ESP to broaden their horizons and understanding of the diverse fields within engineering and applied science. This weeklong summer program is designed to give students the chance to work one-on-one with faculty to strengthen their critical thinking and problem solving skills through hands-on exploration.  If you'd like to sign up to receive more information as it is available, please fill out this FORM

THE UNIVERSITY OF WYOMING WINDY RIDGE FOUNDATION ASTRO CAMP

About: This academic camp is a community of students, teachers, and scientists working together to help tomorrow's leaders follow their dreams through science education. The theme for camp will focus on the science and engineering behind exploring and traveling to a planet in another star system. We have been running similar residential science camps since 2003.

In 2024, the camp will be held on the UW campus and will serve up to 24 students entering 7th or 8th grade. Camp will start at 12:30 pm on June 16, and end at 11:30 am on June 22. On-campus housing and dining will be provided. Field trips to the local mountain ranges are likely. Apply by April 30, but applications submitted by May 6 will be considered, pending camp capacity. The University of Wyoming Teton STEM Academy

About: This summer academic camp is a living/learning summer community of students, teachers, and scientists working together to help youth follow their dreams by encouraging science education for tomorrow's leaders. In 2024, the camp will serve up to 24 students entering 9th, 10th or 11th grade from Wyoming or other nearby states. Questions may be directed to Prof. Chip Kobulnicky. The UW Teton STEM Academy is made possible by a generous gift from the estate of Harry and Mary Ann Lawroski of Jackson, Wyo. Find more information here.


FOR TEACHERS: ENGINEERING SUMMER PROGRAM FOR TEACHERS (ESP4T)

Dates: July 21 - 25, 2025

About: This is a professional development workshop for K-12 teachers to learn how to use Arduino and Raspberry Pi as tools for implementing engineering in the classroom. Participants receive a stipend, UW credit and/or PTSB credit upon successful completion of the program.

FOR TEACHERS: MACHINE LEARNING FOR HIGH SCHOOL TEACHERS (ML4HST)

Dates: July 14 - 17, 2025

About: Machine Learning for High School Teachers (ML4HST) is a professional development workshop hosted at the University of Wyoming campus that trains 8 – 12th grade teachers on how to incorporate machine learning concepts in the classroom. Educators will receive a stipend as well as UW or PTSB credit for attending.
