Clinical Pharmacist Faculty

Lavinia Salama, PharmD, BCACP, BC-ADM, CDCES

Dr. Salama is committed to elevating patient care in rural Wyoming, focusing on patient-centered practices within a collaborative environment.

She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (ACPHS) in 2020. Dr. Salama furthered her expertise with a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, followed by a PGY2 in ambulatory care at ACPHS. Her credentials include board certifications in ambulatory care (BCACP), Advanced Diabetes Management (BC-ADM), and certification as a Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES). She is dedicated to introducing transformative resources such as insulin pumps and CGMs to underserved areas of rural Wyoming.

🌍 Clinical Focus: Dr. Salama's clinical interests encompass cardiometabolic syndrome, tobacco cessation, women's health, geriatrics, team-based care, transitions of care, patient education, and enhancing access to care for underserved populations. In Wyoming's expansive landscapes, she ensures her patients receive top-tier diabetes education and cutting-edge technologies.

🎓 Educational Commitment: Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Salama is passionate about advancing pharmacy practice, mentoring future pharmacists and clinicians.

🌲 Personal Pursuits: Outside of work, Dr. Salama finds joy in hiking, running, exploring nature, and embracing new hobbies like CrossFit. An avid traveler, movie and TV enthusiast, and local coffee aficionado, she also enjoys baking and leisurely walks. Skiing tops her bucket list for future adventures.
