Master of Science in Learning, Design, and Technology Admission Process

Applicants should submit all required materials, including reference letters, by the deadline for the intended term to ensure full consideration. Applications that remain incomplete after the deadline cannot be reviewed.

March 15 (Summer and Fall admissions)
October 15 (Spring admissions)


The Office of Admissions will make final decisions for admission based on faculty reviews and recommendations. Applicants should receive notification of final determinations shortly after their final application reviews.

Admission Requirements

Domestic Students
GPA: 3.0
GRE: no requirement

International Students
TOEFL: 550 minimum written or 80 minimum online, OR IELTS: 6.5 minimum overall score
GRE: no requirement


How to Apply

Step 1: Apply to UW and the School of Counseling, Leadership, Advocacy and Design through the online applicant portal. When filling out your application, please refer to these Application Guidelines for additional directions or descriptions.

  • Access the UW graduate applicant portal.
  • After completing the initial information page, you will receive an email from the system that includes a link and your temporary username and password.
  • Next, complete the application - be sure to include all requested and necessary contact, academic, and residency information.
  • Submit the application fee.
  • Submit ALL required documents to the online document portal (see below for details).

Step 2: Submit official transcripts from all higher education institutions (i.e. universities and colleges) to UW Admissions Office:

-Upload copies of transcripts from all higher education institutions into your graduate application.


Note: Please do not wait to have ALL institutions send official transcripts to Admissions. It is University policy that the UW Admissions Office require official transcripts from every educational institution you have attended.

 

-This includes your undergraduate transcript, AND all higher education institututions that you have transferred coursework in from. This process can take some time to request, send, receive, and process. 


-If you attended UW, you do not have to contact UW Admissions Office to send official transcripts to UW. They will know to "pull' them, when you are admitted.

Required Documents

Please include ALL documents listed below in order for your application to be considered (see guidelines).

  • Upload unofficial or copies of all college transcripts into your application;
    • (All official transcripts should be sent directly to the UW Admissions Office.)
  • Three letters of recommendation (the portal will send a request to each person after you enter their name, title and email addresses into the system)
  • A personal statement (see guidelines)
  • A current academic resume
  • Agree to admissions terms and submit your application

Recommendation Letters (3 required)

In the application portal, please enter in the contact information for the 3 references you would like to write recommendation letters on your behalf. The application portal will email them directly with directions on how they will upload their letter into your application.

  1. Name
  2. Professional title, and
  3. Email address.

Note: Please be sure your 3 references are aware you are applying to graduate school, and give them heads up to expect the email with directions, and inform them of the application deadline.
They will receive emails with instructions. They may need to check their spam, junk, or other folder for the UW email. If they cannot locate it, their email may be blocking ours, so please reach out to UW Admissions Office.
