Online Instruction Certificate Program Admission
It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure their application (for the correct term) is complete by the date listed. Applications not fully completed will not be reviewed.
Application Deadlines
March 15 - Fall term
October 15- Spring term
The Office of Admissions will make final decisions for admission based on faculty reviews and recommendations. Applicants should receive notification of final determinations shortly after their final application reviews.
How to Apply
Step 1: Apply to UW and the School of Counseling, Leadership, Advocacy and Design through the online applicant portal.
- Access the UW graduate applicant portal.
- After completing the initial information page, you will receive an email from the system that includes a link and your temporary username and password.
- Next, complete the application - be sure to include all requested and necessary contact, academic, and residency information.
- Submit the application fee.
- Submit ALL required documents to the online document portal (see below for details).
Step 2: Transcripts
Submit official transcripts from all colleges to UW Admissions:

Upload copies of transcripts from all colleges into your graduate application.
Notes: Please do not wait to have ALL colleges send official transcripts to Admissions.
It is University policy that the UW Admissions Office require official transcripts from every college you have attended. This includes your undergraduate transcript, AND all colleges that you have transferred
coursework in from. This process can take some time to request, send, receive, and
process.
If you attended UW, you do not have to contact UW Admissions Office to send official
transcripts to UW. They will know to "pull' them, when you are admitted.
If you have transcript questions, please reach out directly to the UW Admissions Office.
Required Documents
Please include ALL documents listed below in order for your application to be considered.
- Upload unofficial or copies of all college transcripts into your application;
- (Please send all college official transcripts directly to the UW Admissions Office. Including transfer work and undergraduate transcripts, see Step 2 above.)
- Upload an application letter or personal statement (refer to the personal statement directions here).
- Agree to admissions terms and submit your application.
Recommendation Letters
Please note as of Spring 2024, we no longer require the 3 recommendation letters.
We prefer to review complete applications. Please be sure to complete your application!
