COM Assessment REports

Spring and Fall assessment reports measure the impact of current trends on communication teaching in the classroom.

  • Spring 2025: Indirect assessment of instructor perceptions and activities related to policies and expectations for Generative AI
  • Fall 2024: Direct course-level assessment of student work against teh VALUE rubrics for written and oral communication, and survey results for COM3 courses
  • Fall 2023: Indirect assessment of instructor perceptions and activities related to policies and expectations around Generative AI
  • Spring 2023: Indirect assessment of instructor perceptions, attitudes, and beliefs in response to Generative AI (ChatGPT)
  • Fall 2022: Direct course-level assessment of student working using VALUE rubrics for written and oral communication; includes comparative data from Spring 2022 and Fall 2021
  • Spring 2022: Direct course-level assessment of student work against the VALUE rubric for written communication, and survey results for COM3 courses
  • Fall 2021: Direct assessment of student work against the AAC&U VALUE rubrics for written and oral communication
  • Spring 2021: Direct assessment of student work in COM2 and COM3 related to audience, purpose, and structure
  • Fall 2019: Survey results related to personal practices and teaching oral and digital communication
  • Spring 2019: Cafeteria-style assessment projects across COM2 and COM3 courses
