What is Maxient
The University of Wyoming Dean of Students’ Office and Care and Outreach Team use a secure, third-party system called Maxient to manage student conduct records and send official university communications. Maxient is a web-based platform commonly used by universities to deliver important correspondence. Emails sent through Maxient may include meeting requests, follow-up communications related to conduct or non-conduct matters, excused absence letters, extraordinary circumstance notifications, sanction due date reminders, and overdue sanction notices.
Students who receive an email from Maxient will see a message with the subject line: “Official Communication for [Student’s Name] from the Dean of Students Office.” The email will include a link directing the student to a secure login page. Students should use their UWyo username and password to access the official correspondence.
Maxient also allows the Care and Outreach Team to send text messages to students when a cell phone number is on file. These messages may notify students that a specific Care Coordinator is attempting to make contact. If you receive an email or text message from Maxient, please know that it is an official communication from the University of Wyoming and not a phishing scam. Questions?
