Department Highlights
The Department of Economics at the University of Wyoming has a long tradition of excellence
in applied microeconomics, particularly in the areas of environmental, experimental
and energy economics.
The University of Wyoming is located in Laramie, a vibrant college town in the heart
of the Rocky Mountain West. Located on the high plains between the Medicine Bow and
Laramie mountain ranges, Laramie offers a high quality of life and 300+ days of sunshine
to enjoy a variety of spectacular natural amenities.
Our department currently has 18 full-time faculty and about 45 graduate students.
We pride ourselves on providing a personalized but rigorous training to our students.
The success of our alum entering academia ranks among the top 1% in the world, but many of our graduates have gone on to have successful and rewarding careers
in industry and government.
