In collaboration with the Consortium of Overseas Student Teaching (COST) and with
funding provided by the University of Wyoming Center for Global Studies (CGS) and
the University of Wyoming’s College of Education, we announce the opportunity to submit
a proposal for a concurrent session presentation, to be conducted as part of the Educator Summit on Global Competency, a 1.5-day conference dedicated to the exploration of global competencies and designed
for an audience of educators of all ages.
Potential topics and themes for paper presentations, workshops, or panel discussions at the Summit include the following:
Concurrent sessions will include Paper Presentations, Workshops, and Panel Presentations. Descriptions of these session types and how to propose a session is provided below.
Paper Presentation: Paper presentations will be short, focused presentations of practice, research, or ideas related to one of the topics or themes listed above. Presentations will be grouped, with three presentations made during each session; each presentation will be 15 minutes in length, with time at the end of the session for audience questions and comments. Please see the Proposal Description section below for more information about what to include in a proposal for a Paper Presentation.
Workshop: Workshops are designed to ensure that participants engage in collaborative, engaging work around a particular topic or problem related to one of the conference topics or themes listed above. Workshops will be approximately one hour in length and should be seen as applied, hands-on, and collaborative sessions. Please see the Proposal Description section below for more information about what to include in a proposal for a Workshop.
Panel Discussion: Panel Discussions provide the opportunity for several individuals to discuss a common topic, for which each individual provides expertise and differing perspectives. Panel Discussions will be approximately one hour in length and should include opportunities for questions and comments from the audience. Please see the Proposal Description section below for more information about what to include in a proposal for a Panel Discussion.
Proposals for all three types of sessions (Paper Presentation, Workshop, Panel Discussion) should include the following information:
Presenter contact information, including one individual to serve as the key contact for the proposal.
Proposals for Workshops should also include a description of how audience members will be engaged in collaborative work around a central problem or theme.
Proposals for Panel Discussions should also include information about the panelists.

Peer review of proposals will be conducted using the following criteria: Alignment of proposal elements internally and with conference objectives; appeal of proposal topics to conference audience.
Proposals are due by February 14, 2025
Notification of acceptance will be sent out by March 7, 2025
