Biography
Dr. Amin Davoodi is Assistant Professor of ESL Education in the College of Education at the University of Wyoming, where he also serves as Coordinator of the ESL Program. He earned his PhD in Technology and Bilingual/ESL Teacher Education (Curriculum and Instruction) from Texas A&M University in 2021.
With two decades of experience in language education, research, and teacher education across international contexts, Dr. Davoodi is an internationally certified TESOL teacher trainer who has delivered keynote presentations and led professional development programs in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, Belize, Armenia, Thailand, India, Indonesia, the Philippines, Iran, Turkey, and Egypt.
Dr. Davoodi is the founder of the Technology-Enhanced Language Learning International Conference (TELIC), which he established in 2023 as an open-access, virtual international conference dedicated to advancing scholarship, professional learning, and global exchange in technology-enhanced language education. He continues to serve as chair of this annual conference.
His research lies at the intersection of language education, emerging technologies, and educational equity. His scholarship centers on computer-assisted language learning (CALL), with a particular focus on artificial intelligence and robotics in language learning and teaching, as well as technology-enhanced second language writing. His broader research interests include bilingual education and the sociopolitical dimensions of language education. Across these areas, his work explores innovative and responsible approaches to language education while advancing equitable learning opportunities for multilingual and English language learners.
Dr. Davoodi welcomes interdisciplinary and international collaborations at the intersection of emerging technologies, language learning, teacher education, and educational equity.
The University of Wyoming has earned its Research Level 1 (R1) status from the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education, placing Wyoming's only four-year university with the top research universities in the United States.
