Biography

Dixie Brackman has taught English as a Second Language to all grade levels, from K-12, university students, and adult. She has taught on four continents, and she has taught several courses, including ESL certification courses for the University of Wyoming. Dixie began her teaching career in Ghana, West Africa as a Peace Corps Volunteer following a career in business. Before moving to Laramie Wyoming, she taught in Gallup, New Mexico where ELLs were as numerous as English-speaking students. Civil rights and equity issues are persistent passions. For fun, Dixie enjoys hiking, reading, and most of all, birdwatching.
