Bio

Dr. Hazen is an educational leader with nearly two decades of experience serving students, educators, and communities in Wyoming and Montana public schools. Throughout his career, he has served as a superintendent, principal, curriculum director, special education director, coach, and high school mathematics teacher. Having led at virtually every level of a school system, he brings a broad, practice-based perspective to educational leadership, organizational culture, and the challenges of district improvement.

M.S. - Teaching and Learning - Northern State University, Aberdeen, SD

B.S. - Mathematics - Carroll University, Waukesha, WI

 

Research Interests

Leadership communication and organizational culture; relational trust as a driver of school and district improvement; professional learning and leadership development for principals and superintendents; and the preparation of future educational leaders. He is particularly interested in understanding how these interconnected areas influence leadership effectiveness, organizational capacity, and sustainable improvement in schools and districts.
