Lead Infant Teacher
Emmalee Miller serves as the Lead Infant Teacher at the University of Wyoming Early Care and Education Center (ECEC). The Lead Infant Teacher is responsible for creating a warm and responsive classroom environment for the children in their care, collaborating with children’s families, and supporting and educating classroom staff in the pursuit of developmentally appropriate practice. The Lead Infant Teacher is continually engaging in observation and assessment to inform curriculum development in an emergent curriculum setting. The Lead Infant Teacher also serves as a mentor to practicum students from the College of Education and the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences in the College of Agriculture, Life Sciences and Natural Resources, as well as students from other related disciplines. The Lead Infant Teacher partners with the other Lead Teachers and the Administrative Team at the ECEC to uphold the highest standards of early education, as outlined by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
