Lauren Carlisle

Lauren Carlisle is an Associate Lecturer in the School of Teacher Education at the University of Wyoming. Her work focuses on early childhood curriculum, play-based pedagogy, responsive caregiving, and preparing future educators to build high-quality learning environments. She has worked across infant/toddler, preschool, and elementary classroom settings. In the public school system she has served in a variety of roles across diverse classroom settings and led district-wide early childhood initiatives. Her background also includes leadership roles as Director of UW's Early Care and Education Center and Senior Program Coordinator for the Wyoming Early Childhood Professional Learning Collaborative (WYECPLC), where she played a key role in developing Wyoming's statewide Infant-Toddler Credential framework and updating the state's Early Learning Standards.

 

Lauren holds a B.A. in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood Education from the University of Wyoming and an M.S. in Early Childhood Inclusive Education from Portland State University. By sharing her strong image of children with families and educators, she hopes to empower them to provide better care and advocate alongside her for higher-quality early childhood experiences. Lauren’s greatest joy is being with her family. She also loves finding new places to explore, running, eating out, baking, and getting lost in a good book. She lives in Laramie with her husband, Jason, and their three children.
