Dr. Zhang received her doctoral degree in special education with a focus on Instructional Design, Technology, and Innovation (IDTI) from the University of Kansas (KU). Prior to coming to the University of Wyoming, Zhang worked as a postdoctoral fellow in the Carolina Postdoctoral Program for Faculty Diversity and the Learning Sciences and Psychological Studies program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-CH). Additionally, she worked as an associate researcher at the Center for Innovation, Design, and Digital Learning (CIDDL) at KU. She received my doctoral degree in Special Education with a concentration in Instructional Design, Technology, and Innovation (IDTI) from KU. Zhang’s scholarship is situated at the intersection of learning sciences, special education, and emerging technologies. The purpose of her scholarship is to leverage learning theories and technologies to design and develop personalized learning environments that ensure equity, diversity, and belonging for all learners.
