As an Academic Advising Professional within the College of Education Student Success
Center, Matt Shelby helps students navigate their academic journey, ensuring they
meet graduation requirements and make informed decisions about their studies. Matt
brings a strong commitment to student-centered advising, excellent communication skills,
and the ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students. He assists
students in understanding program requirements, academic policies, and degree progression.
His practical and holistic approach to advising ensures that students receive the
support they need to navigate their educational journey effectively at the University
of Wyoming. Matt serves as a liaison between students and university departments,
addressing student concerns and resolving issues as needed. He stays informed about
best practices in academic advising and higher education trends. In addition to his
advising responsibilities, Matt plays a key role in leading and coordinating major
events such as Discovery Days, Saddle Up, and New Student Days for the College of
Education. He has familiarity with the unique needs of students in education programs.
