Program Coordinator, Sr./ Distinguished Teacher in Residence
Sara Pommarane serves as the Program Coordinator, Sr. at the Literacy Research Center and Clinic (LRCC), where she also holds the role of Distinguished Teacher in Residence. An elementary educator since 2003, Sara has taught kindergarten as well as 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. She is a National Board Certified Teacher in Literacy: Reading–Language Arts, Early and Middle Childhood. Sara holds a master’s degree in K–6 mathematics and is currently pursuing a K–12 Literacy Graduate Certificate from the University of Wyoming.
At the LRCC, Sara coordinates and supervises the tutoring clinic, mentoring undergraduate education students as they provide reading and writing instruction to K–12 learners. She supports tutors in planning evidence-based lessons, delivering instruction across the five pillars of literacy, and using reflective practices to continually strengthen their teaching.
In addition to her work in the clinic, Sara partners with the LRCC’s Endowed Chairs, Dr. Cynthia Brock and Dr. Leslie Rush, to design and facilitate professional development grounded in research-based literacy practices for educators across the state of Wyoming.
