Grasshoppers of Wyoming and the West

Entomology

Stenobothrus shastanus (Scudder)

Stenobothrus shastanus

Stenobothrus shastanus is an uncommon grasshopper that occurs in the mountains of extreme western Wyoming. It prefers grassy meadows in forest openings. The adults in this survey were collected in late August. It is probably a grass feeder but does not cause any economic damage to forage in Wyoming.
