Ex-Officio Members of the Senate

The By-Laws of the Faculty Senate establish that (II-IA & III-A-1):

     "The Faculty Senate shall consist of elected members and ex officio members. All voting members of the University Faculty as defined by UW Regulation 2-300 (University Faculty) and UW Regulation 2-1 (Academic Personnel) shall be eligible for elected membership of the Faculty Senate. Ex officio members shall be the President of the University, the Vice Presidents of the University, University Deans, the Chair of the Staff Senate, and the President of the Associated Students of the University of Wyoming or designated student representative, all having the same privileges as elected members except the right to vote."

Ex Offcio Members of the Executive Committee

The By-Laws of the Faculty Senate establish that the following individuals are ex officio members of the executive committee (VI-B): "The Chairs of the Faculty Senate Standing Committees shall  serve as ex officio members of the Executive Committee." This would include: Chair, Committee on Committees; Chair, Academic Planning Committee; Chair, Budget Planning Committee; Chair, Academic Standards, Rights, and Responsibilities Committee; Chair, Faculty Recognition Committee; Chair, Graduate Council; Chair, Library Council; Chair, Student Interaction Committee; Chair, University Course Review Committee.

Other Ex-Officio Roles

Various administrative and academic personnel are included as members of various committees throughout the broader University of Wyoming community. Except where noted below, members of these committees do not receive a vote in matters before the respective committees.

The Chair-Elect of the Faculty Senate Executive Committee serves as an ex-officio member.

Provost; Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs; Vice President for Research and Economic Development; Chair, Student Interaction Committee; Chair, Graduate Council (voting member); Chair, Budget Planning Committee; and Chair, University Course Review Committee.
