In addition to organization-specific leadership programs and conferences, members of the FSL Community have several opportunities to further develop and hone their leadership skills. It is highly suggested that members inquire and participate in both campus-based and national leadership experiences.

Officer Leadership Retreat (IMPACT)

Each January, the newly elected chapter, and council officers participate in a 2-day, overnight leadership experience hosted at an area retreat center. This institute-style program, called IMPACT and hosted by the North-American Interfraternity Conference, is meant to bring the community together and determine how to address the community’s challenges together, set goals for the future, and build general leadership skills (communication, conflict resolution, empowering teams, etc.)

BASECAMP New Member Experience

In the fall, new members to our community are chosen from each chapter to attened a 2-day, over night leadership experience. These individuals are chosen by current leadership of the chapter based on their potentially and leadership abilities within their first few months as a member of the chapter. The weekend consists of learning about each individuals stregnths, what leadership looks like, and group activities to foster a better community.

Nation or Regional Conferences

Each national organization usually hosts several conferences per year. While some sessions may be officer-specific, others are open for all members to attend.
