Wyoming Maternal Health Innovation Program (WMHIP)

 Every mother in Wyoming deserves to not just survive pregnancy and birth, but to thrive — and so does every baby. That's the future the Wyoming Maternal Health Innovation Program is working toward: a state where a mom's zip code, income, or distance from the nearest hospital doesn't determine her odds of coming home healthy.

Wyoming's vast, frontier geography and sparse healthcare infrastructure mean that the maternal health challenges facing our state look different from those in other parts of the country. Through the WMHIP we are working to design, implement, and study new approaches to closing the gaps in care, and building up the strengths and assets already in our communities.

WMHIP brings together clinicians, community health workers, researchers, policymakers, and the families who've lived through Wyoming's maternal health system, to build solutions rooted in what Wyoming communities actually need.
