Greetings from the Division of Kinesiology and Health, and welcome to the University of Wyoming! I want to extend a warm welcome to you as you embark on the next phase of your academic career and applaud you for your ambition and commitment to challenge yourself! This is an exciting time for you, and I encourage you to take advantage of all that UW has to offer. I hope that your time here will be both academically productive and personally rewarding.

Undergraduate Degree Programs
B.S. Physical Education Teacher Education
Students will receive introductory movement core and science-based preparation throughout the first two years of coursework. During the Sophomore year Spring semester, students apply for the Professional Program, which begins a new cohort each Fall semester.
B.S. Kinesiology and Health Promotion
This undergraduate program can have many applications for future career paths, which include, but not limited to: professional programs such as Physical Therapy, and graduate programs for Athletic Training or Kinesiology.

Physical Education Teaching
Direct from High School & Transfer Students
- Recommended Math (any ONE of the following):
- ACT Math score of 21 or above,
- SAT Math score of 530,
- Math Placement Exam (MPE) score 2,
- MATH 1400: College Algebra - completed through a community college or a dual credit program with high school.
- The first two years will consist of foundational coursework.
- During the Sophomore Spring semester, students apply for the Professional Teaching program; a new cohort begins Fall of Junior year. The professional program is hosted on the main Laramie campus, & completed in 4 semesters.
Kinesiology & Health Promotion
Direct from High School
- Recommended Math (any ONE of the following):
- ACT Math score of 23 or above,
- SAT Math score of 560,
- Math Placement Exam (MPE) score 3,
- MATH 1400: College Algebra - completed through a community college or a dual credit program with high school.
- Over the 4 years, students can incorporate professional pathway prerequisites into degree elective space.
Kinesiology & Health Promotion
Transfer from Community College or Another 4-Yeah Institution
- Recommended completed coursework:
- 2.5 cumulative GPA (UW transfer work),
- MATH 1400: College Algebra - grade C or higher,
- LIFE 1010: General Biology - grade C or higher.
- Students can incorporate professional pathway prerequisites while pursing 48 Upper Division credit hours required for degree completion.
Pre-KHP (or HS, Undeclared)
Direct from High School & Transfer Students
- Recommended Math (any ONE of the following):
- ACT Math score of 22 or below,
- SAT Math score of 530 or below,
- Math Placement Exam (MPE) score 0-2 or incomplete,
- A College of Health Science Advisor will assist students with a KHP foundational coursework pathway built at an appropriate academic pace.
