Since joining the George W. Hopper Law Library as an Assistant Librarian in January 2022, Shelby Nivitanont has worked as Head of Public Services and Scholarly Communication. Shelby supports collection development, faculty and student legal research projects, scholarly publishing dissemination, promotion, and metrics tracking in her role in Scholarly Communications. Additionally, Shelby offers public reference services in the library and teaches two sections of legal research for the first-year law students.

Prior to joining in the Law Library, Shelby served in the US Air Force as an Air Battle Manager onboard the E-3 AWACS. After separating, she worked in public and academic library environments after completing her Masters of Library and Information Studies at the University of Oklahoma. Shelby’s primary research interests include scholarly communication, open education resources, and emerging library technologies.
