About the Technology Transfer Office
The University of Wyoming's technology transfer team helps university innovators achieve social impact. We work with industry, government, and nonprofit organizations to translate university innovations in useful programs, tools, inventions, products, and services that help build social and economic prosperity in Wyoming and beyond.
The technology transfer team reviews innovation disclosures, conducts impact assessments, engages in protection and management of UW intellectual property, and charts the path towards economic and social impact.
about us
When to use our services:
If you create an innovation that may have commercial applications.
If you are contacted by a company to license an innovation, get research materials, create a startup company, sponsor research in your laboratory, or work collaboratively with you on a research project.
If you are submitting an abstract, poster, or paper soon. It is critical to contact the TTO before public disclosure as it allows for the preservation of your full rights.
What is an "Innovation Disclosure?"
An innovation disclosure is a form used to report new and useful creations and inventions. Innovations can include educational content or programs, new models, methods or discoveries, and useful biological and non-biological materials. If you’ve created something or have an idea for creating something that can be useful to society, file an Innovation Disclosure and work with us to help put your innovation to use.
