After the Exam

Took the MPE? Here's what happens next:

After the exam, an unvalidated percentage score will appear on-screen. Your score will automatically be sent to UW and will loaded within three business days, provided all testing guidelines were followed (if your exam is found to be in violation of the testing guidelines, you will receive an email notifying you that your score will not be loaded). Once your score has been loaded, you may register for the appropriate course in WyoWeb. UW accepts the highest score of any exam attempt. Scores are good one year from the assessment date. Click on your score in the accordion below to see what math and stats classes you're eligible for.

To view your score in WyoWeb, click on "Students," then select "Student Records," then "Academic Profile." MPE scores will be loaded under the "Prior Education and Testing" tab.

want to retake the exam?

Students can retake the MPE once the cool-off period (24 hours) has expired and once you have completed the minimum number of required practice hours in the ALEKS PPL guided learning module. After taking the exam for the first time, you must complete three hours of practice before taking your second placement assessment, then five additional hours of practice before you can take your third assessment (practice time reverts back to three hours after the third assessment is taken). The required practice hours can be bypassed if the student comes to one of the in-person MPE proctoring sessions (note: there is no way to bypass the required practice if the student is taking the exam online). To access the guided learning modules and retake the exam, simply log back into your ALEKS PPL account, click into the cohort, and select "Select Your Prep and Learning Module."
