Reinette Curry

Reinette Redbird Curry serves as the Director of the Native American Education, Research, and Cultural Center (NAERCC) at the University of Wyoming (UW). She has her BA in Elementary Education with Minor in Native American and Indigenous Studies and her Masters Degree in Social work, both from UW. Reinette is an enrolled member of the Northern Arapaho tribe,  but also part of the Northern Ute, and Pyramid Lake Paiute tribes. 

In her role, Curry has observed and supported the increasing involvement of Native students at UW since the center’s establishment in 2017. She emphasizes the importance of NAERCC’s programs in aiding student retention and success, while also helping students maintain their cultural identities. Curry is also a member of the advisory board for the Center for the Futures of Native Peoples at Dickinson College. Her leadership has been instrumental in the NAERCC receiving national recognition for its contributions to Native American education and cultural preservation. Reinette is a recent graduate of the Class of 2025 Leadership Wyoming. Fun Fact about Reinette is that she is a Mother of 4 and is a Grandmother to Hayzlee Curry.
