Brandon Durant

Chemistry

Background:
I was born and raised in the Dallas/Fort Worth, TX area and went to Austin for my undergraduate studies. I gained a passion for running and outdoor activities in my 20's and have thoroughly enjoyed my time so far in Wyoming. I've had great opportunities to gain knowledge and experience at UW while also having great outdoor experiences when not in school!

Degree Sought and Department:
PhD in Chemistry

Education:
BS in Chemistry, University of Texas at Austin

Current Research:
Solar energy is the most abundant renewable energy source. As a chemist, I investigate new materials that convert light into electrical power. Ideally those materials are cheap and easy to make as well as non toxic.

Favorite Quote:
Everything is theoretically impossible, until it is done.
