BSN Completion

Already have a nursing background and ready to take the next step? UW’s BSN Completion program offers two online pathways designed to help you earn your Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Both options feature entirely online nursing courses offered in half-semester increments, making it easier to fit your education into your schedule. The program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

Choose your BSN Completion Path

BSN Completion offers two pathways based on your previous nursing education. Explore the options below to determine which pathway fits your experience and see what you need to know before getting started.

ReNEW

ReNEW is designed for students currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Wyoming community college ADN program. To apply, you must be enrolled in or have graduated from a participating Wyoming Community College ADN program after 2018. Apply to UW as a pre-nursing ReNEW applicant — the application fee is waived for ReNEW applicants. ReNEW students may begin BSN coursework while completing their ADN and can finish the BSN as soon as one semester after ADN graduation.

RN-BSN

The RN-BSN pathway is designed for registered nurses who hold an associate degree or nursing diploma from a regionally accredited institution. Applicants must have an active, unencumbered U.S. RN license and apply to UW as an undergraduate degree-seeking student. This pathway is also an option for Wyoming ADN-prepared RNs who graduated before ReNEW was implemented in 2018.

The BSN completion programs offer rolling admission so you can enroll anytime you are ready, but we do have preferred admission deadlines for guaranteed class availability.  Final UW admission and approval of the College of Health Sciences background check must be completed by the priority admission deadlines.

Priority Admission Deadlines

  • August 1 for Fall semester
  • December 1 for Spring semester
  • May 1 for Summer semester

Each student's plan of study depends on their previous education. A timeline is developed after admission and transcript evaluation.
