Professor Chip Kobulnicky obtained a Ph.D. in astrophysics from the University of Minnesota in 1997. He was a Hubble Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and an associate scientist at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, before joining the UW faculty in 2002. Chip is an observational astronomer, using ground-based and space-based telescopes at radio, infrared, optical, and X-ray wavelengths to study stars, star formation, the chemical composition of interstellar material, and the evolution of galaxies.
