Welcome to the Plant Sciences Department

Our department prepares students for careers in agriculture, natural resources, environmental and life sciences, and advanced graduate studies in the plant sciences. Nearly all of these jobs are challenging, rewarding, family-friendly, and never routine. Our courses cover a wide array of plant-related topics: agronomy, crops (fruits, grains, vegetables), plant diseases, food production, forages, greenhouse environments, ornamental horticulture, invasive species, organic production, plant physiology, water, and weeds. As a student, you and your advisor will select courses that match your career interests. It is an interdisciplinary and highly practical degree program designed to prepare students for "real world" situations.
