More Opportunities

Don't have time to join a formal organization or committee?  That's OK!  Here are a few ways that you can still promote health and wellness!

  • Learn about health topics that interest you by attending a Wellness Wednesday presentation, or some other health education program.

  • If you see something, say something!  If someone around you seems to be having a difficult time, or is in a potentially risky situation, intervene.  This could mean asking them if they are ok, asking them how you can help, cutting someone off if they've had too much to drink, telling an administrator or authority figure that you are concerned about the person, or even calling 911.  Don't just assume that someone else will take care of them, or that they will be ok on their own.

  • Learn about health and wellness resources and encourage people to use them.

  • Be a role model for health.  We all know that nobody is perfect, but try to make healthy and positive choices to help yourself live a healthy lifestyle.  You may  inspire others to do so as well!
